Our Volunteers
Our Volunteers come from all walks of life. Many, but
not all, operate boats of their own ranging from small runabouts to converted
fishing vessels.
Some have been members of the Unit for almost 30
years and have in the early days provided their own vessels for missions
when requested to do so.
The one thing in common among them is their
dedication in serving the community on the water. They participate in rescue
missions, on-water and classroom training, and public education events.
New members start out with some easy training before
attaining New Crew status, and then, as the training continues,
progress to Crew, Advanced Crew, and perhaps Coxswain
level. Each step is full of new knowledge that ensures the member is at
his/her professional best when serving on a mission.
